Vedavalli Vidyalaya Celebrates 33rd Annual Sports Day with Competitive Events

Vedavalli Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School marked its 33rd Annual Sports Day with great enthusiasm on Saturday at the Andal Rangasamy Stadium in Ranipet. The event witnessed spirited participation from students in various sports and athletic competitions.

Vikram Chandrasekaran, analyst for the Delhi Capitals cricket team, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of balancing academics with sports. “Students should actively pursue sports training alongside their academics. Engaging in sports activities helps us to keep fit, physically and mentally,” he said, encouraging young minds to embrace physical fitness as a vital part of their daily routine.

The day featured a range of competitive events, including relay races, long jump, high jump, javelin throw, discus throw, kabaddi, football, and volleyball. Students showcased their athletic skills and team spirit, making the day lively and memorable. The competitions were designed to foster camaraderie, discipline, and sportsmanship among the participants.

Championship trophies and certificates were awarded to winners by Mr. Chandrasekaran, in the presence of Vidya Sampath, the school’s correspondent, Banu, the principal, and Lakshmi, the headmistress. Their presence added encouragement and pride to the achievements of the young athletes.
