A dispute between two groups over breaking the boundary ridge of a farm turned into a violent clash in Singpura village of the Porsa area in Morena district. One young man died in the incident, while four other people were injured. The injured include the deceased’s mother and uncle.
The deceased has been identified as 23-year-old Ajay alias Golu Tomar, son of Rammohan Tomar and a resident of Singpura. He suffered serious injuries during the assault. His family members were taking him to Gwalior for treatment, but he died on the way.
The incident reportedly involved an attack with sticks and clubs. There is also information that gunshots were fired during the clash. The allegation is that people armed with lathis and sticks attacked one family following the dispute over the farm boundary ridge.
Apart from Ajay alias Golu, four other people were injured in the incident. They have been identified as Raghavendra Singh, 55, who is the deceased’s uncle; Sanjay, 28; Ravi, 26; and the deceased’s mother, Mamta Devi, 48. Information about the treatment of the injured has not yet come to light.
The deceased’s family has accused Rajveer Singh, Rakesh alias Pappu, Umesh Singh, Laxman alias Karu Pehalwan and Raja of assaulting Ajay alias Golu and causing his death. All the accused are reportedly absconding after the incident. Police have begun searching for them.
According to the deceased’s family, the dispute had started in the morning over stopping a tractor in the farm. The family members then reached Porsa police station to submit a complaint in connection with the matter. They allege that their complaint was not heard.
The family has claimed that if the police had taken action on their complaint in time, the dispute might not have escalated to this extent and Ajay’s life could possibly have been saved. However, the official position regarding the complaint submitted in the morning and the action taken by the police is yet to become clear.
Porsa police station in-charge Jaideep Bhadoria said that the aggrieved side had arrived at the police station at 12. According to him, there was no light at the police station at that time, due to which the complaint could not be heard. He said that the people left after informing the police about the incident again.
