Two Killed, Two Seriously Injured as Scorpio-N Overturns on Shamli Flyover

Two people, including the driver, were killed and two others were seriously injured after a speeding Scorpio-N overturned on the Panipat Bypass flyover in Shamli on Wednesday morning.

The accident took place at around 10:30 am. According to the information available, the Scorpio-N was coming from the direction of Panipat in Haryana and had reached the Panipat Bypass flyover in Shamli. During this time, the vehicle went out of control, hit the divider and overturned.

The collision was so powerful that the vehicle overturned several times. The accident caused panic at the spot, and a crowd gathered there soon after the incident.

After receiving information, a police team reached the spot and started relief and rescue work. With the help of an ambulance, the injured people were taken to a government hospital for treatment.

Doctors at the hospital declared the vehicle’s driver, Sandeep Kumar Duhan, and Ankit, a resident of Rasalapur under Bapoli police station in Haryana, dead. Both were among the two young men killed in the accident.

The two other people injured in the crash were identified as Major and Atish K. They were seriously injured in the accident. After receiving primary treatment at the hospital, both injured people were referred to a higher centre for further treatment.

Police reached the location after being informed about the accident and arranged for the injured to be shifted to the hospital by ambulance. Details of the circumstances that caused the vehicle to go out of control were not given in the information available.
