In Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, a landslide near the Thathri-Kilotran highway caused traffic disruptions. Authorities are working to clear debris and restore connectivity.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for 22 states today, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Goa. A yellow alert for rain has been issued for all states except Gujarat.
Despite rainfall, temperatures exceeded 40°C in several cities across Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab, and Haryana. The highest temperature was recorded in Punjab's Bathinda at 46.2°C, followed by Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar at 45.9°C, Uttar Pradesh's Banda at 45.4°C, Maharashtra's Brahmapuri at 45.5°C, and Madhya Pradesh's Khajuraho at 45°C.
