In Uttar Pradesh, 32 districts are under a weather alert for thunderstorms and rain, with wind speeds expected to reach 50-60 km/h. The monsoon is likely to enter the state between June 17 and June 20 via Sonbhadra and Lalitpur. On Sunday, Jalaun recorded the highest temperature in the state at 41°C.
Rajasthan is also experiencing significant weather activity, with rain alerts issued for 15 districts. Chittorgarh recorded one inch of rainfall on Sunday, while Phalodi was the hottest city with a maximum temperature of 42.8°C. Rainfall is expected to continue in the state for the next three days.
In Bihar, 19 districts are under a yellow alert for rain, even as temperatures remain high in some areas. Sheikhpura recorded the highest temperature in the state on Sunday at 40°C. Meanwhile, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are also experiencing varying weather conditions, including rain and strong winds, with temperature fluctuations expected in the coming days.
The IMD has also warned of heatwave conditions persisting in parts of Maharashtra, particularly in Marathwada and Vidarbha, until June 17.
