Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University launches 'Free Thinkers Club' for students

Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University has launched an innovative initiative through its Political Science Department to foster critical thinking and democratic awareness among students. Under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Narendra Bahadur Singh, the department has established the 'Free Thinkers Club,' aiming to encourage creativity, logical reasoning, and multidimensional perspectives among students.

The club is designed not only to prepare students for competitive exams but also to enhance their personality, critical thinking, communication skills, and leadership qualities. It serves as an intellectual platform where students can engage in discussions and debates on social, political, economic, and contemporary issues beyond the boundaries of traditional curricula. Activities include weekly current affairs classes, seminars on national and international observances, and various academic and creative competitions such as speeches, essays, and debates.

On Saturday, club member Tanishk Varshney conducted a session on current affairs, updating students on national and international developments. Following this, a discussion was held to mark the anniversary of the Quit India Movement, focusing on the theme "Citizen Participation in Democracy: Lessons from the Quit India Movement." Students Abhishek Gautam, Khushi Jadoun, and Lakshmi Sharma shared their thoughtful insights, connecting the historical significance of the movement with contemporary democratic participation.

The event saw active participation from club members, including Chairperson Priyanshi Varshney, Vice Chairperson Nirdosh Kumar, Secretary Abhishek Gautam, and Joint Secretary Rashi Verma. Faculty members Dr. Keshav Sharma and Gagan Pratap Singh from the Political Science Department also guided the students during the session. The program was hosted by Rashi Verma, adding to the vibrant intellectual atmosphere of the club’s activities.
