State Government Clears ₹6,000 Crore in Employee Dues Within 100 Days

The State government has fulfilled its promise to clear ₹6,000 crore in pending dues for employees and pensioners within 100 days. On Thursday, the Finance Department released the third instalment of ₹2,000 crore, completing the commitment made to the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of employees earlier this year.

Principal Secretary (Finance) K. Sandeep Kumar Sultania announced the fund release, acting on instructions from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. The payments were made in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 crore each, with the first instalment disbursed on May 29, the second on June 30, and the final one on July 30. Officials confirmed that the remaining pending dues would be settled gradually in a phased manner.

The Finance Department emphasized the government’s focus on supporting retired employees, stating that the released funds have helped clear long-pending commutation dues for pensioners. This marks a significant step in addressing financial grievances that had been unresolved for years.

The move has been welcomed by employee unions, who had been pressing for timely payment of arrears. The JAC had earlier expressed concerns over delayed payments, which affected thousands of government employees and retirees. The ₹6,000 crore disbursement is expected to provide much-needed relief and improve morale among the workforce.

Officials reiterated the government's commitment to employee welfare and assured that efforts to clear all remaining dues would continue. This development signals a proactive approach by the administration in addressing financial concerns and maintaining trust with its workforce.
