Sea Cadet Corps Opens Applications for 2026 Batch in Visakhapatnam

The Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), Visakhapatnam Unit, has invited applications for its 2026 batch, offering schoolchildren a chance to join the prestigious youth organisation. Boys and girls aged 10 to 12, born between August 1, 2014, and July 31, 2016, and studying in Classes V, VI, or VII, are eligible to apply. A basic knowledge of English is mandatory for applicants.

Application forms will be distributed on June 20 at the INS Circars Command Swimming Pool from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. To collect the forms, candidates must bring a study certificate along with certified copies of their birth certificate and Aadhaar card. Completed forms must be submitted at the same venue on June 28, during the same time slot.

The selection process will take place on July 5 and will include a written test, a physical test, and an oral test. Candidates who clear all stages will receive call letters by August 1, with training for the 2026 batch scheduled to begin on August 2.

The SCC is a voluntary organisation aimed at nurturing discipline, confidence, and leadership skills among young cadets. It offers training in a variety of activities, including drill, shooting, swimming, boat pulling, semaphore, and rigging. Training sessions are conducted every Sunday from 7 a.m. to noon, providing cadets with hands-on experience in these disciplines.

This initiative provides a unique opportunity for children to develop essential life skills and gain exposure to naval training at a young age. Interested candidates and their parents are encouraged to act promptly, as the application process is time-sensitive.
