Agnimitra Paul discusses her fashion-to-politics journey at city event

On Wednesday, an inspiring event titled Looms to Leadership was hosted by Prayas, featuring Agnimitra Paul, Minister-in-Charge of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, in conversation with dancer-choreographer Avirup Sengupta. Paul also encouraged citizens to actively contribute to city beautification efforts, sharing that she has kept the same phone number for 30 years to remain accessible. “I request everyone to send me their ideas on WhatsApp so that together we can make our city beautiful, green, and litter-free,” she said, adding that her team is just a month into the journey of improving the city.

Actress Rituparna Sengupta, a longtime friend of Agnimitra Paul, took the stage to express her admiration. She described Paul’s journey as a testament to determination and resilience, praising her for excelling as a mother, a professional, and a public servant. “You are our inspiration,” Sengupta said, lauding Paul’s ability to navigate challenges and achieve great heights.
