Edappadi K. Palaniswami denies son's promotion in AIADMK party

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami has firmly denied reports suggesting that his son, Mithun, is being promoted within the party. Addressing the media on Thursday, June 18, 2026, after the Governor’s address to the Assembly, Palaniswami stated that Mithun would remain a primary member of the AIADMK and would not hold any official position in the organisation.

“There is no truth in these reports. He will remain only a primary member of the party and will not occupy any post in the organisation,” Palaniswami clarified, putting an end to speculation about his son’s involvement in party affairs. He further urged people not to believe or spread such rumors, calling them baseless.
