During the meeting, Tamil Nadu CM Vijay opposed the NEET examination, stating that it adversely affects students from rural and economically weaker backgrounds. He demanded that admissions to MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH seats under Tamil Nadu's state quota be based on Class 12 marks instead.
The meeting focused on achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047, with discussions on inclusive human development, employment, skill development, health, nutrition, equal opportunities, and digital governance. Strategies to align state development visions with national goals and ensure effective implementation of development plans at the grassroots level were also deliberated. Recommendations from the National Conference of Chief Secretaries, scheduled for December 2025, were reviewed.
This year's theme for the NITI Aayog meeting was 'Inclusive Human Development for Developed India @2047,' emphasizing equitable development across all demographics and regions.
