A government spokesman confirmed that Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu had gazetted the November 22 polling date, and assured the public that preparations are underway to ensure the elections are conducted “smoothly in an open, honest, fair, safe and orderly manner.” The Electoral Affairs Commission is collaborating closely with the government to streamline arrangements.
