Minister Rajkumar inaugurates ₹1.30 crore classrooms in Cuddalore school

Housing and Urban Development Minister B. Rajkumar on Monday inaugurated eight newly constructed classrooms at the Government Higher Secondary School in Thirukandeswaram, Cuddalore district. Built at a cost of ₹1.30 crore, the classrooms are part of the State Government’s ongoing efforts to upgrade infrastructure in government schools.

Speaking at the event, Minister Rajkumar highlighted the government’s commitment to improving the quality of education across Tamil Nadu. He stated that various schemes are being implemented to ensure government schools offer facilities comparable to private institutions. “We are focused on providing students with better classrooms, laboratories, libraries, drinking water, and toilet facilities. These initiatives aim to create an environment where children can thrive academically,” he said.

The new classrooms were constructed under the School Development Grant scheme, which is designed to enhance educational infrastructure in the state. The Minister emphasized that such projects are crucial for bridging the gap between government and private schools and ensuring equitable access to quality education for all students.

Cuddalore Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar also attended the inauguration ceremony, underscoring the district administration’s support for the state’s education initiatives. The event marked another step in the government’s broader push to strengthen public education and empower students in rural areas.

The State Government has been rolling out a series of measures to uplift the education sector, including modernizing facilities and introducing innovative teaching methods.
