Government Schools Key to Telangana's Progress, Says CM Revanth Reddy

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday emphasized the pivotal role of government schools in shaping Telangana’s future, asserting that the State’s progress hinges on the strength of its classrooms. He made the remarks while inaugurating the newly-constructed building of Kothakota Girls High School.

Personal Journey as Inspiration

Revanth Reddy, who himself studied in a government school, urged students to aim high, stating, “If anyone questions what a student from a government school can achieve, point to my example.” He encouraged students to work hard and aspire to leadership roles, drawing on his own journey from a modest educational background to becoming the Chief Minister.

Criticism of Past Neglect

The Chief Minister criticized the previous government for neglecting the education sector and failing to honor the aspirations of Telangana’s martyrs. He reaffirmed the Congress government’s commitment to their vision by promising quality education and equal opportunities for all sections of society.

Focus on Public Education

Highlighting his administration’s priorities, Reddy said the government has taken steps to strengthen public education. This includes appointing senior officials to the Education Department and addressing long-pending teacher transfers and promotions. He attributed declining enrolment in government schools to poor infrastructure and praised local MLA Madhusudhan Reddy for spearheading improvements at Kothakota Girls High School.

Ambitious Goals for Telangana

Currently ranked 18th in education nationally, Telangana must strive to be among the top two, Reddy said, calling for collective efforts to achieve this goal. He also announced that the distribution of Young India kits to 27.5 lakh beneficiaries would be completed by August 15, marking another step towards empowering the State’s youth.

The Chief Minister’s remarks underline the critical role of education in Telangana’s development and the government’s focus on revitalizing public schools to ensure a brighter future for the State.
