Three complaints regarding the alleged theft of donations at Ayodhya's Ram Mandir were filed on Tuesday. The complaints were lodged by Santosh Dubey, founder of Dharm Sena; Sharad Shukla, Vice President of UP Youth Congress; and Karni Sena. However, no FIR has been registered yet in connection with these complaints.
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav commented on the issue, stating, "God's FIR would be bigger. What will you do with the FIRs we file?" Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Team (SIT), accompanied by Ayodhya DM Shashank Tripathi and SSP Dr. Gaurav Grover, visited the temple on Tuesday morning to investigate the matter further.
The SIT has been questioning suspicious employees of the temple trust. On Monday, the team gathered information from Champat Rai, the trust's general secretary, and interrogated trust member Gopal Rao. Additionally, 42 employees under suspicion have been questioned so far. The SIT also inquired about the security measures in place, particularly whether employees were checked while leaving the temple premises. It was revealed that while employees were checked upon entering, no such checks were conducted when they exited.
Karni Sena's state president Abhinav Singh described the theft as an attack on Hindutva and demanded that the culprits be jailed. He warned of protests if FIRs are not filed and arrests are not made. So far, five individuals—Lovekush, Avnish, Anukalp, Karune, and Ramshankar—have been identified in connection with the theft, leading to a recovery of ₹2 crore. Lovekush and Anukalp are currently in police custody.
