Vadodara uses drones to ensure quality in pothole repairs

Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has started using drones to monitor the quality and progress of pothole repairs across the city. With over 2,500 potholes identified for patchwork, this innovative step aims to ensure contractors maintain high standards and complete repairs efficiently. The initiative comes as the city gets a brief break from heavy rainfall, providing a window to address its damaged roads.

Municipal Commissioner Arun Mahesh Babu has taken a hands-on approach to the situation. On Tuesday, he held a special review meeting where he issued strict guidelines to ensure durable repairs. He instructed engineers to activate hot mix plants and emphasized the importance of long-lasting solutions that can withstand future rains. On Wednesday, he personally inspected repair sites and directed officials to prioritize restoring roads in all zones of the city.
