Yogi Adityanath Reviews PWD Plans to Boost Development Projects

Kanpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a meeting of the Public Works Department (PWD) on Thursday at the Udyog auditorium located within the joint commissioner office on the HBTU campus. During the session, the CM reviewed the action plan for the financial year 2026-27 and engaged in detailed discussions with public representatives from the Kanpur division regarding development-related proposals.

Public representatives from Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Kannauj, Etawah, Auraiya, and Farrukhabad districts presented their proposals, highlighting the specific developmental needs of their respective areas. Acknowledging their insights, the Chief Minister remarked that public representatives possess a deep understanding of the geographical, social, and developmental requirements of their regions.

The CM emphasized that these suggestions and proposals should be compiled on a priority basis and promptly submitted to the government for necessary approvals. This would ensure that developmental work begins within a defined timeframe. He also stressed the importance of recovering compensation from individuals or institutions responsible for damaging PWD roads, in accordance with established rules. Maintaining the quality and utility of roads, he said, should be a key focus.

Yogi Adityanath directed officials to prioritize and expedite approvals for projects related to public interest. He instructed them to act swiftly on proposals concerning the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana, state highways, bridges, ROBs/RUBs, connecting roads to religious sites, flyovers, and road safety measures, as per the priority order determined by public representatives.
