Master plan roads to improve connectivity between key areas in Tirupati, says Collector

Construction of eight master plan roads has been initiated by the Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) in Tirupati district.

The projects include roads at Ithepalle village in Chandragiri mandal, Settipalli, Daminedu and Kotramangalam in Tirupati Rural mandal, as well as Erukala Bata Road, Court Road and Swarnamukhi Riverfront.

The bhumi pujas for the new roads were held on Tuesday.

Earlier, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had virtually laid the foundation stone for the projects on Monday.

Projects planned for completion by March 2027

The estimated cost of the eight projects is ₹190.89 crore, with funding from TUDA and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

The works are expected to be completed by March 2027.

The projects come as TUDA takes up infrastructure development in a region where Tirupati is expanding rapidly.

Tirupati has been described as the spiritual capital of the State, and the road works are intended to address the growing needs of the region.

District Collector S. Venkateswar, TUDA Chairman C. Divakar Reddy, Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani, TUDA Vice-Chairman R. Govinda Rao and TTD JEO Sarath participated in the event.

TTD board members Panabaka Lakshmi and Bhanuprakash Reddy, A.P. Vannekula Kshatriya Welfare and Development Corporation chairman C.R. Rajan, and Yadava Corporation president Narasimha Yadav also participated.

Focus on Tiruchanur and outer-ring connectivity

Speaking to the media, the Collector said the master plan roads were being constructed within the limits of Tiruchanur gram panchayat.

He said the objective was to improve transport facilities and enhance connectivity between key areas in Tirupati city.

One of the major projects is a modern road connecting Kotramangalam Road to Tiruchanur-Pudi Junction.

According to the source, this road is aimed at strengthening the city’s outer ring road connectivity.

The Collector said the new road would have wider transport significance beyond the immediate project area.

“The opening of the new road will not only reduce traffic congestion in Tirupati city but also provide improved transport facilities for travellers heading towards Srikalahasti, Naidupeta, and Chennai. Additionally, the road will contribute to the development of Daminedu and the surrounding areas,” the Collector added.

The eight-road programme therefore links road construction with traffic management, access to key destinations and the development of areas around Daminedu.
