The measures are being taken amid El Nino conditions, which have led the State government to focus on preventing a possible power shortage.

Mr. Reddy said the recent State Cabinet meeting had primarily discussed measures to prevent power shortages.
He also said the government had ensured drinking and irrigation water despite the prevailing El Nino conditions.
Recent cyclone-induced rainfall had provided some relief, he said.
