Responding to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s interaction with students in Chennai on Saturday, BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran disputed his claims and said Tamil Nadu’s students and youth would not fall for what he called “false propaganda”.

Speaking on Sunday, Nagenthran claimed that Mr. Gandhi had made “false charges and imaginary allegations”.

Nagenthran’s claims on NEET and reservation

His remarks referred to NEET and to the reservation intended to benefit poor students from government schools.

On NEET, he said it was brought in during the erstwhile United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime, headed by the Congress.

He also pointed out that the 7.5% reservation to benefit poor students from government schools was “brought in by the National Democratic Alliance”, he added.

These were the two policy points Nagenthran cited while responding to Mr. Gandhi’s interaction with students.
