Swadeshi Jagran Manch Burns Effigies of Musk, Trump Over Espionage Allegations

The Swadeshi Jagran Manch burned effigies of American internet company owner Elon Musk and US President Donald Trump at Niranjan intersection in protest against them.

The Swadeshi Jagran Manch alleged that Elon Musk wants to spy on India through his company Stalin and some private satellites that are providing internet services in the country. The organisation said Musk was waiting for an opportunity to harm India through espionage whenever the country faced a crisis.

“This is completely unacceptable to us. We have indigenous internet companies and we do not need them,” the Swadeshi Jagran Manch said.

The organisation also alleged that the US President was involved in the matter. It said the effigy-burning programme was organised to register its protest against Elon Musk and Donald Trump.

According to the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, apart from its members, ordinary citizens also took part in the programme. The protest was held at Niranjan intersection, where the effigies were burned.

The statement was issued by Shailendra Sharma, Narsinghpur.
