Trump to Award Musk, Brin, Huang and Su Top US Science Medal

President Donald Trump will present close ally Elon Musk and other technology leaders with the National Medal of Science at a ceremony on Thursday, the White House said.

The presentation will take place during the “Science: A New Golden Age” summit, where several prominent figures from the technology sector will be honoured.

Technology leaders among science medal recipients

Google co-founder Sergei Brin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and AMD chief Lisa Su will also receive the National Medal of Science.

The medal is described as the top US scientific award, placing Musk, Brin, Huang and Su among the recipients being recognised at the ceremony.

Musk is identified in the White House announcement as a close ally of Trump.

Separate award for Dell and Nadella

Computer mogul Michael Dell and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will receive the National Medal of Technology and Innovation.

The award is described as the top award in its field.

White House spokeswoman Liz Huston said in a statement on Wednesday, “The Trump administration is grateful for the contributions of these incredible leaders in science and technology. These recipients are helping ensure America keeps leading the world in innovation.”

The announcement therefore covers two of the country’s highest-level honours in science and technology, with the recipients being recognised for contributions that the administration says support America’s leadership in innovation.
