Dasara gift for Singareni officers, Dy CM fulfils long-pending demand
The Singareni management has issued orders revising the pay scales of executive cadre employees after the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Board approved the proposal.
The revised structure brings the salaries of Singareni officers in line with the pay scales followed by Coal India.
The decision is expected to benefit nearly 1,800 officers belonging to Executive Cadres E-1 to E-7.
Revised pay orders issued after Board approval
Singareni management issued the orders on Monday evening (October 19, 2026), following approval from the company’s Board.
The orders were issued by Director (Personnel) Gautam Potru.
According to the notification, the revised basic pay scales will take retrospective effect from January 1, 2017.
However, the financial benefits arising from the revision will apply from September 25, 2026, the date on which the Singareni Board approved the proposal.
Officers will start receiving their revised salaries from the October pay cycle.
The distinction between the retrospective revision of the basic pay scales and the date from which financial benefits will apply has been specified in the management’s notification.
Under the revised structure, the basic pay of E-1 cadre officers has been increased from ₹40,000 to ₹60,000.
The basic pay for E-2 officers has been revised to ₹70,000 from ₹50,000.
For E-3 officers, the revised basic pay is ₹80,000, compared with the earlier ₹60,000.
The basic pay of E-4 officers has been increased from ₹70,000 to ₹90,000.
E-5 officers will now draw a basic pay of ₹1 lakh, against the earlier ₹80,000.
The pay scale for E-6 officers has been revised to ₹1.2 lakh from ₹90,000, while the E-7 scale has been revised to ₹1.2 lakh from ₹1 lakh.
Demand for parity with Coal India
The revision follows demands raised by Singareni officers after Coal India approved a revised pay structure for its executives.
The Coal India revision was intended to address disparities and align executive salaries with those of Maharatna public sector enterprises.
Seeking similar parity, Singareni officers approached the Telangana government and requested that the revised structure be implemented in SCCL.
Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka intervened in the matter and directed Singareni management in July to expedite its examination of the proposal.
He also directed the management to ensure that the officers received favourable news before Dasara.
A committee was subsequently constituted to study the issue and submit its recommendations.
The revised pay scales were cleared on the basis of the committee’s report and the approval granted by the Singareni Board.
Officers welcome decision
Leaders of the Singareni Officers’ Association welcomed the decision and thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka for honouring their commitment.
Officers said the move would boost morale and motivate them to contribute more effectively to coal production, energy security and Telangana’s industrial growth.
The pay revision comes close on the heels of the state government’s announcement of a ₹596-crore Dasara bonus for nearly 39,000 Singareni workers and employees.
The government had also announced a bonus of ₹5,500 each for contract workers.
With the salary revision for officers, the government has extended festival benefits across all major sections of the Singareni workforce.
The decision marks a significant morale boost for the coal major and its employees, while fulfilling a long-pending demand for parity in executive pay scales.
