Rashid alleges living wife was shown as dead to remove her name from ration card An unusual case linked to the government ration system has come to light in Shamli district.
An unusual case linked to the government ration system has come to light in Shamli district. A man has accused the Supply Department of serious negligence, claiming that his wife is alive but has been shown as dead in the ration card. He alleged that the process of removing her name has already been started.
The man also alleged that after removing his wife’s name, an attempt is being made to enter the name of another person in her place.
The matter concerns the Shamli tehsil area. The victim, Rashid, submitted a written complaint to the Supply Inspector. In the complaint, he said that his wife had been shown as deceased in ration card number 1754200087309.
Rashid said that his wife is completely alive. He alleged that action was being taken to remove her name from the ration card without any inquiry or verification. According to him, there had been no proper investigation before his living wife was declared dead in the official record.
Rashid said he works as a daily-wage labourer and supports his family through his earnings. He claimed that the wrongful removal of his wife’s name from the ration card could create a crisis for his family in getting government ration.
He further alleged that an attempt was being made to enter another person’s name after deleting his wife’s name from the card.
Questioning the department’s process, Rashid asked how a living woman could be declared dead without verification. He also questioned whether any inquiry is conducted before action is taken regarding a ration card.
A byte from victim Rashid is part of the report.
Rashid has requested the Supply Inspector to order an impartial inquiry into the matter. He has also demanded that the process of showing his wife as dead be cancelled immediately and that her name be restored to the ration card.
The complaint has raised questions about the process followed by the Supply Department while making changes to ration card records. The department’s action on the allegations and the inquiry sought by Rashid will determine what happens next in the case.
