A woman from Rajowala locality in Shamli has accused her relatives of entering her house and taking away cash worth 85 thousand rupees and gold and silver jewellery valued at around 15 lakh rupees. She has also alleged that when she demanded the return of the cash and jewellery, the accused assaulted and threatened her.
The woman, identified as Mohsina, a resident of Rajowala locality, submitted a complaint to the Kotwali in-charge and the outpost in-charge. In her complaint, she sought action against the accused and requested that her cash and jewellery be recovered and returned to her.
Mohsina stated that around one year ago, her husband was not present at home. During that time, Azad, Badshah and Abrar, residents of Kairana, along with Kala alias Khurshid, Saddam, Mursaleen and Pammu, residents of Rajowala locality in Shamli, allegedly reached her house.
According to the woman, the accused asked her to hand over the money kept in the house. She said that when she refused, they allegedly intimidated and threatened her. She further alleged that they entered the house and took away 85 thousand rupees kept in a cupboard, along with gold and silver jewellery worth around 15 lakh rupees.
Mohsina also alleged that while leaving, the accused threatened her against telling anyone about the incident. She claimed that they warned her of consequences if she disclosed what had happened.
The woman said that after some time, her husband asked her about the money. It was then that the cash and jewellery were found to be missing from the cupboard. According to her complaint, her son Rahim told her husband that the concerned people had come to the house.
Mohsina stated that she remained silent at that time because she feared that the family relationship would be damaged. She said that a dispute later took place between her and her husband, after which her husband drove her out of the house. She then began living at her parental home.
The woman alleged that she continued to demand the return of her cash and jewellery, but the accused kept avoiding the matter and allegedly continued to delay it. According to Mohsina, on 16 October at around five in the evening, she again asked for her money and jewellery. She alleged that the accused assaulted her at that time.
