Students gathered outside a Patna college for the third time, demanding the release of Roshan Anand, director of Gyan Bindu Coaching, who is in jail in connection with an attack on Khan Sir's coaching institute. The protestors planned a march to Kargil Chowk, prompting heavy police deployment, including water cannons. Students questioned the fairness of the investigation, alleging that Anand was jailed without proper inquiry.
The court heard Roshan Anand's bail plea but rejected it. Meanwhile, in the same case, Khan Sir's anticipatory bail plea was heard on Tuesday, with the court staying his arrest until further orders. Khan Sir's lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mahua, argued that the firing incident was an act of self-defense and not intended to spread fear. The court scheduled the next hearing on Khan Sir's bail for June 20.
In a related development, the court also heard bail pleas for two security guards of Khan Sir, Deepak Kumar and Talebar Singh, who were arrested on June 4. The court has sought evidence from the police before making a decision.
Khan Sir, addressing his students, claimed that the attack on his coaching institute was part of a larger issue. He showed CCTV footage and alleged that the guards were beaten by 20-25 individuals. He also warned that if his institute shuts down, coaching fees in the area could rise significantly. Khan Sir emphasized that the firing on June 2 was a defensive measure taken before the police arrived.
