Madhya Pradesh has started a special recruitment campaign to fill around 20,000 vacant government posts reserved for persons with disabilities across various government departments. The General Administration Department (GAD) issued instructions for the campaign on 9 October 2026. The current campaign will continue until 31 December 2026.

The government has also decided that, from the coming years, the special recruitment campaign will be held every year between 1 January and 31 March. The move is aimed at filling reserved posts that have remained vacant and providing eligible candidates with an opportunity to apply through a separate recruitment process.

A key feature of the recruitment process is that no separate marks will be awarded for the interview. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the recruitment rules applicable to the post, the required educational qualification and the prescribed eligibility conditions. Selection will be made according to this merit list.

The government has also laid down rules related to publishing advertisements, checking documents and dealing with objections. These provisions are intended to make the recruitment process clear and transparent for applicants.

According to a departmental survey, around 36,000 posts are reserved for persons with disabilities in Madhya Pradesh. Employees are currently working on around 16,000 of these posts, while approximately 20,000 posts are still reported to be vacant.

There had been a demand for a special recruitment campaign to fill these vacant posts for a long time. Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities Dr. Ajay Khemaria said that the government has now issued instructions to begin the recruitment campaign in response to this demand.

To ensure that the information reaches the maximum number of eligible candidates, the departments concerned will have to carry out wide publicity for the recruitment. Advertisements must be published in at least two major daily newspapers. The information must also be uploaded on the website of the concerned department and on the portal of the Social Justice and Persons with Disabilities Empowerment Department.

The advertisement will have to clearly mention all essential conditions related to the recruitment. This will include the number of vacant posts, the relevant category of disability and the required educational qualification, along with other necessary eligibility conditions.

The date and venue of the recruitment campaign can be decided only after at least 30 days have passed from the publication of the advertisement. This provision will give eligible candidates time to read the details, arrange the required documents and submit their applications.

After applications are received, the documents will first be checked. Separate lists of eligible and ineligible candidates will then be prepared and uploaded on the relevant website.

If a candidate objects to being declared ineligible, the candidate will be able to submit a claim within 15 days of the publication of the list. The objection will have to be submitted within the prescribed period.

On the basis of merit, candidates numbering up to a maximum of twice the number of advertised posts will be called for verification of their original documents. This process will help confirm the eligibility of the shortlisted candidates and verify the documents submitted by them.

The government has also made a provision for candidates who are selected in two different departments. If a candidate is selected in two departments, the candidate will have to choose one department.

After the candidate chooses one department, the post that becomes vacant in the other department can be filled by a candidate from the waiting list. This arrangement can provide an opportunity for appointment to candidates included in the waiting list.

The special recruitment campaign is now being given a regular structure. The campaign will be conducted every year from 1 January to 31 March in the coming years. Along with this, the old order issued on 29 April 2025 has been cancelled, and instructions have been issued to implement a new online record system.

Candidates who want to benefit from the campaign have been advised to keep their documents ready. These include educational certificates, a valid and updated disability certificate and other required documents.

Before applying, candidates should check the official advertisement issued by the concerned department. They should also verify the eligibility conditions for the post, the relevant disability category and the deadline for submitting the application.

The final information about the recruitment, including the department-wise and post-wise details, will be clear only from the advertisements issued by the departments concerned. Applicants will therefore need to rely on those official advertisements for the final number of posts, eligibility requirements, recruitment schedule and other details.
