Karo Sambhav raises ₹56 crore to enhance e-waste recycling efforts

Gurugram-based recycling startup Karo Sambhav has secured ₹56 crore in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Rainmatter, a fund backed by Zerodha. The investment aims to boost the company’s efforts in expanding its recycling infrastructure, particularly for e-waste, and improving the recovery of valuable materials like metals from waste streams.

Karo Sambhav, founded in 2017 by Pranshu Singhal, focuses on building a circular economy by promoting sustainable waste management practices. The company plans to use the fresh funds to enhance its high-quality recycling facilities, with an initial focus on e-waste, which is a rich source of critical and precious materials.

Over its nine years of operations as a bootstrapped venture, Karo Sambhav has made significant strides in the recycling sector. It currently operates two recycling facilities and has established waste collection networks in more than 50 cities across India. To date, the company has successfully channelised over 1,50,000 metric tonnes of waste for responsible recycling.

The funding marks a major milestone for Karo Sambhav, as it looks to scale its operations and tackle the growing e-waste problem in India. E-waste, which includes discarded electronic devices, is a rapidly increasing challenge due to the rising consumption of electronics. Proper recycling not only prevents environmental damage but also allows for the recovery of valuable resources.

With this investment, Karo Sambhav aims to strengthen its role in India’s recycling ecosystem and contribute to sustainable waste management solutions. The move aligns with broader efforts to address the environmental impact of electronic waste while promoting resource efficiency.
