Just 3% of Hong Kong firms have fully integrated AI, survey finds
A survey finds just 3% of Hong Kong firms have fully integrated AI, with organisational resistance and outdated infrastructure slowing adoption.
A survey has found that artificial intelligence remains only marginally integrated into the workflows of Hong Kong companies, with just 3 per cent having fully adopted it.
The findings show that many firms are still struggling to move beyond interest in AI towards broader use across their operations. The survey identified resistance to organisational change and outdated digital infrastructure among the hurdles slowing adoption.
Robert Hah, the consultancy’s Hong Kong office lead, said, “Hong Kong really has strong AI ambitions and strong interest, and frankly, the right ingredients in place now. However, few enterprises have really scaled AI across the business.”
Hah pointed to government initiatives aimed at promoting the AI industry and upskilling the city’s workforce as favourable conditions for adoption. He also cited Hong Kong’s robust capital markets as another factor supporting companies’ efforts to adopt AI.
The survey’s findings therefore underline a gap between Hong Kong’s strong AI ambitions and the extent to which companies have integrated the technology into their workflows. Firms continue to face organisational and infrastructure-related barriers even as wider conditions for AI adoption are described as favourable.
