Hathras DM orders time-bound complaint resolution, warns officials against negligence
Hathras District Magistrate Saty Prakash Patel said negligence in resolving public complaints would not be tolerated.
Hathras District Magistrate Saty Prakash Patel said negligence in resolving public complaints would not be tolerated. During the Janata Darshan held at the Collectorate on Thursday, Patel listened seriously to the problems brought by complainants from different areas and directed the concerned departmental officials to ensure their time-bound and quality resolution.
The District Magistrate said the prompt and quality disposal of public complaints is among the government’s highest priorities. He directed all officials to personally hold public hearings in their offices on every working day and to ensure, as far as possible, that complaints are resolved on the spot.
Patel made it clear that officials should not limit their response to passing orders as a mere formality. Instead, effective action must be taken after fixing responsibility for the actual resolution of the problem, he said.
The District Magistrate further directed officials to act promptly in cases where a complainant’s problem has remained pending for a long time. The concerned officer should issue instructions to revenue and police officials over the telephone so that the matter can be resolved without further delay.
He gave specific directions regarding land dispute cases. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate and the Circle Officer should, whenever necessary, form a joint team of revenue and police officials and take action at the spot. This, he said, would help ensure a permanent solution to the dispute and prevent a situation in which the complaint is raised again in the future.
Patel also instructed officials to give priority to public problems brought to their notice by public representatives. He said officials must personally remain available on their government CUG numbers and maintain regular contact with public representatives over the telephone.
According to the District Magistrate, regular communication in this manner would improve coordination between the administration and public representatives. It would also help ensure the effective and time-bound resolution of the problems faced by ordinary people.
