Guruvayur Temple Launches Virtual Queue System for Devotees

The Sreekrishna Temple in Guruvayur, Kerala, introduced its virtual queue system for darshan on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, aiming to streamline the pilgrimage experience for devotees. The initiative was officially inaugurated by Guruvayur Devaswom chairman A.V. Gopinath in a ceremony held near the Bhagavathy shrine at the temple’s East Nada entrance at 6:30 a.m.

Smooth Start Despite Rain

Despite challenging weather conditions, over 100 devotees successfully participated in the virtual queue during the first slot between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. By 1 p.m., 1,800 devotees had booked slots, showcasing strong initial interest in the system. Devotees are required to report to the designated virtual queue entrance, located at the northern end of the queue complex at East Nada, at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time.

Trial Phase Details

During the trial phase, virtual queue darshan will be available twice a week — on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Morning slots run from 7 a.m. to noon, while evening slots are scheduled from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Each one-hour slot accommodates up to 300 devotees. To ensure smooth entry, pilgrims must bring their booking receipt and the same government-issued ID used for online reservations, which will be verified by security personnel.
