Gadag: Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has underscored the importance of blending India’s ancient heritage with modern technology to elevate Ayurveda to a global platform. Speaking at the convocation ceremony of Bhagavan Mahaveer Jain Ayurvedic Medical College in Gajendragad, Gadag district, on Thursday, the Governor highlighted Ayurveda’s role as not merely a system of medicine but as a scientific guide to a healthy lifestyle.

Karnataka’s Role in Ayurveda

Governor Gehlot praised Karnataka’s significant contributions to Ayurveda and naturopathy, noting the state’s robust network of medical education institutions and universities. He emphasized that these institutions are shaping a promising future for young practitioners. Addressing the graduating students, he urged them to draw inspiration from the teachings of Bhagavan Mahaveer and dedicate themselves to serving society with unwavering commitment.

Ayurveda: A Remedy for Modern Challenges

Describing Ayurveda as the culmination of generations of research and experience, the Governor explained its dual purpose: maintaining the health of the healthy and curing diseases in the afflicted. He also pointed out Ayurveda’s relevance in addressing ailments caused by today’s high-stress lifestyles, asserting that it offers effective solutions to modern health challenges.

Highlighting India’s global contributions through Ayurveda and Yoga, Governor Gehlot called on citizens to take pride in the country’s ancient wisdom and cultural heritage. He stressed the need to preserve and promote these traditions while integrating them with contemporary advancements.

Convocation Ceremony Highlights

The event was presided over by the college’s chairman, Ashokkumar Bagmar, who also addressed the gathering. Secretary Ajitkumar Bagmar detailed the institution’s efforts to combine education with value-based learning, while Principal Dr. Narayanrao delivered the introductory remarks. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Directors Sadeep Jinavasara, Tarabai Bagmar, and Vardhaman Bagmar, as well as Deputy Commissioner C.N. Sridhar and Superintendent of Police Rohan Jagadish.
