CCB books 19 over alleged midnight wheelies, triple riding and public drinking

A series of night patrols by the Central Crime Branch has led to 19 people being booked for allegedly violating rules related to road safety and public conduct.

Violations identified during patrols

The CCB’s Organised Crime Wing (East Division) and Narcotics Control Squad identified the individuals during regular patrols conducted across the city.

The alleged violations included riding wheelies at midnight, triple riding, riding vehicles without number plates and consuming alcohol in public places.

The CCB said some of the activities created a public nuisance and caused inconvenience to residents.

The patrols are part of the CCB’s efforts to prevent activities that disturb public order, threaten peace and order in the city or create inconvenience for residents.

CCB warns of strict action

The teams have been conducting regular night patrols across the city to identify such violations.

The CCB said the night patrols would continue and warned that strict action would be taken against activities that cause public nuisance or pose a threat to peace and order.

It also warned that repeat offenders would face strict action.
