CBI examines second post-mortem report in Twisha Sharma case; MP Women's Commission visits jail

The Madhya Pradesh Women's Commission team, led by Chairperson Rekha Yadav, visited Bhopal Central Jail to meet retired judge Giribala Singh, who is in custody regarding the Twisha Sharma death case. During the visit, Giribala Singh was found reading Devdutt Pattanaik's book 'The Pregnant King'. She closed the book upon seeing the team. Rekha Yadav inquired about her food, health, and other facilities, to which Giribala Singh stated she had no complaints and was comfortable. The commission found no evidence of special treatment being provided to her in jail.

The team also inspected the women's ward, hospital, kitchen, library, art and craft center, and beauty parlor within the jail premises. The book Giribala Singh was reading, 'The Pregnant King', is based on the mythological story of King Yuvanashva, who unintentionally became pregnant after consuming a ritual drink.

In the ongoing investigation into Twisha Sharma's death, the CBI has received the second post-mortem report. The agency is focusing on medical, digital, and forensic evidence, including details related to pregnancy, injuries, and the ligature marks. The CBI is also examining chats, call records, photos, videos, and deleted data from mobile phones and laptops to piece together the case.

Additionally, Giribala Singh's legal team, comprising Reena Verma and Shreyas Saxena from the District Legal Aid Defense Council, has filed documents in court. The court has sought permission from the State Legal Services Authority regarding their representation.
