Bomb Threats to RSS Headquarters, CM Office, and Mayor Offices in Maharashtra; Khalistan Group Claims Responsibility

On Wednesday, emails threatening bomb explosions were sent to the RSS headquarters, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), and the mayor offices mumbai in Mumbai and Pune. The emails were reportedly sent by a group identifying itself as the Khalistan National Army. Following the threats, several buildings were evacuated, and security agencies conducted search operations. Officials confirmed that no suspicious items were found during the searches, but security measures have been intensified as a precaution.

According to PTI, Nagpur Mayor Nita Thakre received an email claiming that explosives had been planted at the RSS headquarters in Mahal and the Dr. Hedgewar Smriti Bhavan in Reshimbagh. Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) teams were dispatched to the locations, and sensitive areas were thoroughly searched. No threats were detected, but security was increased.

The BMC also received multiple emails threatening explosions at the Mumbai mayor's office, the CMO, the BSE building, and municipal offices. These emails, sent to the official email ID of the corporation, mentioned Khalistan and contained inflammatory and threatening language against various institutions and organizations. One email claimed that an IED-laden car would target the Mumbai mayor's office, while other locations, including the BSE building and CMO, were also mentioned as targets.

In Pune, the municipal corporation's main administrative building and the mayor's office were evacuated after receiving a similar bomb threat email. Officials stated that the email mentioned specific timings for IED explosions at the Pune mayor's office, Vidhan Bhavan, and the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. However, the threats were later determined to be false.
