Andhra Pradesh opens applications for theatre awards Nandi Natakotsavalu and Kandukuri Puraskaralu

The Andhra Pradesh government has opened applications for Nandi Natakotsavalu-2025 and Kandukuri Puraskaralu-2026, inviting theatre groups, educational institutions, individual artistes and technical experts to participate in the annual recognition programme.

Applications for Nandi Natakotsavalu-2025 are being accepted from theatre groups, schools, colleges, universities and individuals across multiple categories. The categories include Padya Natakalu (verse plays), social plays, social dramas, children's plays, college and university plays, and books written on theatre and theatre arts.

Awards for theatre professionals

K.S. Viswanathan, Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation Limited, announced that applications for Kandukuri Puraskaralu-2026 are also open. These awards will recognise Pauranika (mythological) and social theatre artistes, directors, technical experts, writers and theatre organisations who have rendered outstanding services to the field of theatre.

The Kandukuri Rangasthala Pratibha Puraskar will be presented at the State level, while the Kandukuri Visishta Puraskaralu will be presented at the district level.

Application process and deadline

Applicants can access complete details on the organisation's website www.apsftvtdc.in. The last date for submitting applications online is October 20, 2026.

After submitting applications online, candidates must take a printout and submit it along with relevant documents and signatures to the Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh State Film, Television and Theatre Development Corporation Limited, 4th Floor, NTR Administrative Block, Pandit Nehru Bus Station, Vijayawada, 520 013.

The printed applications and supporting documents should reach the office by October 26, 2026.
