Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has shifted his focus to bolstering civic amenities and public infrastructure in the remote areas of his Atmakur constituency in SPSR Nellore district. On Saturday, August 1, 2026, he inaugurated new classroom and laboratory buildings at the Kasturba School and Junior College in Marripadu Mandal, a remote corner of his constituency bordering Kadapa district.

₹2.54 Crore Investment in Education

The newly inaugurated facilities at the Kasturba School and Junior College were developed with a significant investment of ₹2.54 crore. In a unique gesture, Mr. Reddy invited students to join him in officially opening the new buildings, marking a collaborative moment between the administration and the local community.

The Minister also participated in the school’s midday meal programme, sharing a meal with the students. This provided him with an opportunity to personally assess the quality of food served in the rural institution.

Balancing Constituency Work with State Portfolio

Mr. Reddy’s renewed attention to his constituency comes amid his demanding responsibilities as Endowments Minister. Over the past two years, his portfolio has seen significant activity, including nominating members to temple trust boards and overseeing the renovation and consecration of long-neglected temples. These commitments have often limited his ability to focus on major development projects in Atmakur.

The visit to Marripadu Mandal underscores his intent to address this gap by personally engaging with local issues and ensuring the delivery of essential infrastructure in underserved areas.

Why It Matters

The development in Marripadu Mandal highlights the government’s efforts to improve educational and civic facilities in rural and remote regions. By prioritising such initiatives, Mr. Reddy aims to bridge the infrastructure gap in his constituency, ensuring that even the most far-flung areas receive attention and resources.
