Amethi NH-56 Near Jafarganj Becomes Pothole Hazard, Locals Say

The poor condition of National Highway 56 in Amethi has come to the fore, with the stretch near Jafarganj turning into a badly damaged road full of deep potholes.

A large portion of the road near Jafarganj has reportedly turned into deep pits, creating serious trouble for commuters and vehicle drivers. It is being said that drivers are getting injured after falling into these potholes, and the danger has increased especially for two-wheeler riders.

The condition of the road is such that it is difficult to understand whether there are potholes on the road or a road exists between the potholes. With fast-moving vehicles passing through the stretch, these potholes are becoming a major reason for accidents.

Questions are now being raised over the working of the responsible department. The concern being voiced is whether the road department will wake up only after a major accident. The bigger question is: when will NH-56 be repaired?

Local people and passersby say that people get injured on this road almost every day. They say potholes have appeared at many places across the road. During the rainy months, water fills these potholes, and commuters say they have to face heavy difficulties while using the route.
