Thiruvananthapuram strengthens Gulf connectivity with new services to Riyadh, Bahrain

Bookings are now open for Air India Express direct services from Thiruvananthapuram to Riyadh and Bahrain, with both services scheduled to begin on October 27.

The new flights will provide passengers with enhanced access to key destinations in the Gulf region and expand the international connectivity available from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.

Riyadh service to address long-standing demand

The Riyadh service is expected to address the long-standing demand for direct air connectivity between Thiruvananthapuram and the Saudi Arabian capital.

It is also expected to offer greater convenience to passengers travelling between Keralam and Saudi Arabia.

Air India Express will operate the Riyadh service three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The new flights will complement the airline’s existing daily Air India Express services to Dammam.

Bahrain connectivity to expand

The new Bahrain service will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Bahrain is already connected to Thiruvananthapuram through daily Gulf Air flights, and the Air India Express service will further strengthen that connectivity.

Thiruvananthapuram currently has more than 250 weekly air traffic movements to the Gulf region.

The airport’s existing Gulf connectivity includes key destinations such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Doha, Muscat, Kuwait and Dammam.

The Riyadh and Bahrain services will further expand the international network from Thiruvananthapuram and strengthen air connectivity between Keralam and the Gulf region.

The direct Riyadh service is expected to particularly benefit the large expatriate community from southern Kerala and neighboring Tamil Nadu in Saudi Arabia.

Together, the new services add direct options for passengers travelling to two important Gulf destinations while building on the airport’s existing links with the region.
