142 Constable Trainees Pass Out From Chittoor Training Centre

A batch of 142 police constable trainees from Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts completed nine months of training and passed out of the District Training Centre in Chittoor on Saturday.

The passing-out parade of the SCT PC-2025 batch was conducted at the DTC grounds in Chittoor.

Minister for Transport and district in-charge Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy attended the event as the chief guest.

Addressing the trainees, the Minister said it was heartening to see highly educated youth joining the police force.

He said the government was giving top priority to filling vacant posts in the police department.

“The State government issued a notification for 5,000 constable posts at one go and completed the recruitment process. The stipend for trainees has been increased from ₹4,500 to ₹12,000,” the Minister said.

The remarks placed the passing-out ceremony in the context of recruitment and training support for the police department, as stated by the Minister.

Minister stresses discipline, honesty and cyber awareness

Calling on the trainees to uphold discipline and honesty, the Minister urged them to remain technically aware in an era of artificial intelligence and rising cybercrimes.

His message linked police conduct with the changing nature of policing, where cybercrimes and artificial intelligence were specifically cited as areas requiring awareness.

District Collector Sumit Kumar said that for many people, a constable would be the first and most visible face of the government.

“People expect justice, safety and good service from you. You have to be lawful, impartial and responsible while dealing with vulnerable sections and victims,” he said.

The Collector’s comments underlined the public-facing role of constables and the expectations placed on them while dealing with vulnerable sections and victims.

Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi said the trainees should continue the discipline and efficiency they displayed today in the field as well.

“Work with integrity and bring a good name to your families, DTC Chittoor and the State police,” he said.
