Banda Rain: DM, SP Inspect Waterlogged Areas, Order Immediate Drainage

Amid continuous rainfall in Banda district, District Magistrate Amit Aseri and Superintendent of Police Palash Bansal carried out an on-site inspection of areas affected by waterlogging and reviewed the situation on the ground.

The inspection was conducted after several areas in the district reported waterlogging due to the ongoing rain. The officials visited the affected locations, including Shukul Kuan, Katai Mill, Mawai Buzurg, Paprenda and Parsauda village, and took stock of the conditions at the sites.

During the visit, the District Magistrate directed the SDM, BDO and other officials concerned to ensure immediate drainage of accumulated water. He instructed that all available resources, including pumps and JCB machines, be used to the maximum extent for removing water from the affected areas.

The officials were also asked to ensure cleaning of drains and larger drainage channels so that water could be cleared without delay. Special monitoring was ordered in areas such as main roads, markets, populated localities and government premises where waterlogging has been reported or may create difficulty.

Instructions were also issued for the immediate disposal of complaints related to waterlogging. On routes affected by accumulated water, the administration directed that alternative arrangements and barricading be put in place as required.

The Electricity Department was instructed to take necessary safety precautions in view of the waterlogging. The District Magistrate said the safety of citizens living in areas with heavy water accumulation is the top priority, and if required, immediate relief and rescue arrangements should be ensured.
