Main Accused In Attack On Gonda Advocate’s Brother Arrested Within 24 Hours

The main accused in the attack on the brother of advocate Shivendra Mishra in Gonda district has been arrested within 24 hours, police said. The arrested accused, Aman Ojha, was taken for medical examination at Gonda Medical College and then produced before the Gonda court, which sent him to judicial custody.

The incident took place in the Nagar Kotwali area. Advocate Shivendra Mishra, a resident of Tiwari Purwa on Bahraich Road, had alleged that his brother Satyam Mishra was attacked on Friday afternoon by Aman Ojha and his associates. According to the complaint, the attackers used sticks, rods and a knife in what has been described as a life-threatening assault.

Police said action was taken quickly after the complaint was filed at Nagar Kotwali. Aman Ojha, named as the main accused, was arrested today. However, three named accused, Surendra Ojha, Devendra Ojha and Anil Ojha, along with five unidentified accused are still absconding. Nagar Kotwali police are carrying out repeated raids to arrest them.

In his complaint, advocate Shivendra Mishra named Aman Ojha, Surendra Ojha, Devendra Ojha, Anil Ojha and five unknown accused. He alleged that he had earlier filed a case against them on 28 April 2026 in connection with an assault.

Shivendra Mishra further alleged that after that case, the accused had been pressuring him to compromise in the matter by forcibly making a fake demand of 30000. He also alleged that they were threatening him with death from time to time.

According to Shivendra Mishra’s complaint, Aman Ojha had also confronted him on 17 September during a procession of advocates. He alleged that Aman Ojha showed a weapon and threatened him, saying, “पैसा नहीं दोगे तुम्हारे परिवार को मार दूंगा”.

Shivendra Mishra alleged that the latest attack happened near Gate Number 2 of the Diwani Kachahri, when his brother Satyam was drinking tea. He said the accused attacked Satyam with sticks, rods, a knife and sharp-edged weapons. He alleged that the attackers left Satyam there and fled, thinking he was dead.

Nagar Kotwal Bindeshwari Mani Tripathi said Satyam is undergoing treatment at the medical college. He said one accused, Aman Ojha, has been arrested, while efforts are being made to arrest the remaining accused.

Tripathi said, “सत्यम का मेडिकल कॉलेज में इलाज चल रहा है एक आरोपी अमन ओझा को गिरफ्तार किया गया है और जो आरोपी है उनकी गिरफ्तारी के लिए हम लोग प्रयास कर रहे हैं लगातार हमारे कई पुलिस टीम लगी हुई है पीड़ित परिवार के साथ हम लोग हैं किसी प्रकार की दिक्कत नहीं होने दी जाएगी।”
