Raebareli bullion trader robbed of jewellery worth lakhs, assaulted

A bullion trader was robbed in Raebareli after car-borne miscreants allegedly targeted him while he was returning home on a bike after closing his shop.

The victim has been identified as Rishabh Soni. His shop is located in the Shivgarh area. According to the information available, he was carrying a bag at the time of the incident. The bag is said to have contained gold and silver jewellery, whose value is being estimated in lakhs.

The incident took place near Ziledar Guest House in Bachhrawan. When the trader resisted the robbery, the accused allegedly beat him up. He was seriously injured in the assault and was sent to a hospital for treatment in an injured condition.

After the information about the robbery was received, Superintendent of Police Ravi Kumar reached the spot along with a large police force. Police are questioning people in the surrounding area.

Officials have also started tracking the miscreants with the help of CCTV cameras installed at the intersection.
