TTD Stresses Coordination for Smooth Brahmotsavams Amid Massive Pilgrim Turnout

With the Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams set to take place in Tirumala from September 15 to 23, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has ramped up preparations to manage the anticipated influx of devotees. TTD Additional Executive Officer (AEO) Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, during a review meeting on Thursday, urged all departments to collaborate closely to ensure the nine-day festival runs seamlessly.

Focus on Transport, Safety, and Crowd Management

In a detailed review held at the Sudharma Conference Hall, Chowdary instructed officials to enhance APSRTC bus services to accommodate the surge in pilgrim traffic. He also emphasised the need for an advanced parking management plan to avoid congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement. To address safety concerns, large-scale distribution of child identification tags will be undertaken to prevent children from going missing during the festivities.

Public safety remains a top priority for the TTD. Chowdary directed departments to maintain strict vigilance over electrical cables and temporary power installations to eliminate accident risks. Fire safety measures are to be completed ahead of the festival. Special attention will be given to the Garuda Vahana Seva and Chakrasnanam events, which typically draw the largest crowds, with arrangements designed to ensure devotees face no inconvenience.

Cultural and Security Measures Underway

TTD Joint Executive Officer Dr. A. Sarath revealed that cultural troupes from 25 Indian states, along with performers from Singapore and Germany, will participate in the Brahmotsavam celebrations. A separate review meeting has been conducted to oversee arrangements in Tirupati. Security measures were also discussed in detail, with the Chief Vigilance and Security Officer and Tirupati District Superintendent of Police presenting a comprehensive plan via PowerPoint.

Senior Officials Mobilised for Oversight

The review meeting was attended by key officials, including TTD In-charge Chief Engineer Manoharam, Deputy Executive Officers Rajendra and Bhaskar, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kusuma Kumari, DFO Phani Kumar Naidu, Tirumala ASP Ramakrishna, and VGO Surendra. Their presence underscores the scale of coordination required for the festival’s success.
