The Dr. C. Krishna Rao Memorial Society, Veterinary Home, Telangana, has opened nominations for its annual awards recognising excellence across multiple disciplines in the livestock sector.
The awards, instituted in memory of eminent livestock scientist C. Krishna Rao, will honour outstanding contributions by veterinarians, scientists, extension officers, farmers and academicians. Recognition will span eleven categories covering clinical practice, research, farming and education.
Award Categories
The society will present awards for best field veterinarian, best surgeon, best gynaecologist, and best microbiologist/virologist. Farmer categories include best dairy farmer, best poultry farmer, and best sheep and goat farmer. Academic honours comprise best teacher of a veterinary university, best undergraduate, and best postgraduate with the highest marks. A Lifetime Achievement Award will also be conferred.
Application Process
Candidates must route their applications through District Veterinary Officers in all 33 districts before submitting them to the Dr. C. Krishna Rao Memorial Society at Veterinary Home, Shantinagar, Hyderabad. The submission deadline is September 30, according to V. Lakshma Reddy, president of the awards committee.
The awards function is scheduled for October 13.
