The Telangana government is preparing to roll out a State Logistics Policy 2.0 alongside City Logistics Plans specifically designed for Hyderabad and Warangal, officials confirmed on Friday.
The Commerce and Export Promotion Department announced the initiatives during a PM GatiShakti and LEADS 2025 Dissemination Workshop held in Hyderabad for Southern States. The government aims to position Telangana as a globally competitive logistics gateway through these facilitating measures, which also include an Integrated Logistics Master Plan.
Infrastructure push in Manoharabad
Development of a multi-modal logistics park in Manoharabad forms a key component of the reform package. The State is simultaneously pursuing strengthening of air cargo infrastructure and promotion of skill development in the air logistics sector, the Department said.
Focus on cost reduction and connectivity
The government is prioritising measures intended to reduce logistics costs, enhance multimodal connectivity, attract investments and facilitate seamless movement of goods within Telangana and across the region. Officials described logistics as a critical enabler of economic growth driving the reform agenda.
Regional collaboration platform
The workshop, organised by the Centre's Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, brought together senior government officials and stakeholders from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. Representatives from industry bodies, trade associations and logistics sector stakeholders participated in discussions on enhancing logistics efficiency, promoting integrated infrastructure planning and improving ease of logistics across the region.
Telangana hosted the Southern Regional Workshop for the first time. The State has earned recognition as a high performer among landlocked States in the Logistics Ease Across Different States assessment, having consistently participated in the evaluation. Director of Industries and Export Commissioner Nikhil Chakravarthi inaugurated the workshop.
The PM GatiShakti National Master Plan focuses on enabling integrated infrastructure development and improved logistics efficiency.
