Telangana launches Industrial Policy 2.0 with targeted policies for aerospace, defence, life sciences, and data centres at Rising Global Summit 2.0 in Dece
Telangana is preparing sector-specific industrial policies spanning aerospace, defence, lifestyle, leather, global capability centres, data centres, electronics and life sciences as part of its Industrial Policy 2.0 framework, moving away from a one-size-fits-all model, a senior state official has announced.
Commissioner of Industries Nikhil Chakravarthy J. disclosed that the government plans to unveil these policies at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2.0, scheduled from December 7, 9 under the theme 'Invest Telangana'. He was speaking at the launch of the Indo-German Gateway Programme organised by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI).
Overhaul of approval system
The state's TG-iPASS system of time-bound approvals will be renamed as the government transitions towards a more agile and outcome-oriented industrial facilitation framework, Chakravarthy said.
Telangana is also considering competitive incentives for firms investing $25 million and above, aiming to attract larger investments, create high-quality employment and build strong local industrial ecosystems, he added.
Local manufacturing strength
The state already holds a significant advantage in local manufacturing, with nearly 80% of the components required by local industries produced within Telangana, the Commissioner noted.
The Indo-German Gateway Programme, launched in collaboration with the German Indian Business Alliance (GIBA) and Innovation Hub RheinMain, is a structured 12-month internationalisation and European market-entry initiative designed to help Telangana enterprises establish a sustained commercial and operational presence in Germany and use the RheinMain region as a gateway to wider European markets.
The programme framework provides for maximum aggregate support of up to €25,000 per participating enterprise, subject to eligibility, milestone completion, approvals and availability of programme resources, according to an FTCCI release. The support is intended to facilitate activities such as assessment, market visits, establishment and market development.
