Telangana Housing Board to conduct lottery for 7,340 affordable flats

The Telangana Housing Board will conduct constituency-wise lottery draws from August 27, 2026, to allocate 7,340 Indiramma Houses across 16 Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad's Core Urban Region (CURE), with the entire selection process to be livestreamed on YouTube and other digital platforms.

Over 60,000 applications for 7,340 flats

The state government received more than 60,000 applications for the affordable housing units during the application window that ran from July 21 to August 15, 2026. The flats will be provided in housing towers, with each unit offering 528 square feet of built-up area and 400 square feet of carpet area comprising a hall, kitchen and one bedroom.

Under the scheme, the government will subsidise ₹5 lakh per flat, while beneficiaries must pay the remaining ₹6 lakh in instalments.

Verification and objection timeline

Housing Board Vice Chairman V.P. Gautham said verification of applications is currently underway, with officials checking whether applicants already own a flat or plot within the Outer Ring Road limits and confirming their residence status in Hyderabad. The verified applicants list will be displayed on the MeeSeva (https://ts.meeseva.telangana.gov.in/) and Telangana Housing Board (tghb.cgg.gov.in, tghb.telangana.gov.in) websites from the evening of August 20, 2026.

People can submit objections against details in the published list until the evening of August 23, 2026. After examining these objections, the final list of applicants eligible for the lottery draws will be announced on August 25, 2026.

Category-wise draws with waiting lists

The lottery draws will be conducted for four constituencies each day starting August 27, in the presence of officials from the Revenue and Housing departments along with media personnel. The selection process will follow reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, people with disabilities, government outsourcing staff, Class IV employees and sanitation workers. A waiting list will also be prepared for each category through the lottery system.
