Telangana extends industrial land conversion applications deadline to October 31

The Telangana government has reopened applications for industrial land conversion under its Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation Policy (HILTP), extending the deadline by three months until October 31. This decision, announced via a government order (GO) by Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, allows applications to be submitted through the online portal from August 1 to October 31 at the Special Registration Office (SRO) rates that were in effect before June 5, 2026.

Stakeholders Push for Extension

The extension follows requests from stakeholders and industry associations, who had raised concerns about the limited application window earlier provided in June. During that period, the portal was open for just one month, from June 1 to June 30. Representatives had urged the government to keep the portal operational until December 2026 and to maintain the pre-June 5, 2026 SRO rates, which were revised upwards earlier this year.

These appeals were discussed during a meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on revenue mobilisation on June 21. While the government has agreed to extend the application period, it has retained all other terms and conditions outlined in the HILTP policy and operational guidelines.

Implementation by TSIIC

The Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC), designated as the nodal agency for implementing HILTP, will oversee the extended application process. The policy aims to facilitate the conversion of industrial lands within and near Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR) into multi-use zones. Vice Chairman and Managing Director of TSIIC has been directed to take necessary actions to ensure smooth implementation during the extended period.

The extension provides industrial stakeholders additional time to adapt to the revised policy framework and benefit from the conversion scheme at favorable rates. With Hyderabad’s rapid urban expansion, the transformation of industrial lands into multi-use zones is seen as a key step in addressing growing demands for diversified land use.
