Telangana Divides Hyderabad Elevated Corridor From Jubilee Hills To NFCL Into Two Packages
Telangana revised the Hyderabad KBR elevated corridor plan, extending it from Jubilee Hills to Muffakham Jah College in two MEIL-led packages.
The Telangana government has divided the elevated corridor planned between Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction and NFCL Junction in Hyderabad into two parts.
The restructuring is intended to fit the single corridor project into two packages linked to components that had earlier been approved, tendered and awarded but were subsequently cancelled.
The orders were issued by the Metropolitan Area and Urban Development department on Tuesday (October 7, 2026).
They approved a proposal from the Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), to revise the scope of the infrastructure components.
The same orders cancelled the previously approved flyover and underpass works at TV9 Junction and NFCL Junction.
Continuous corridor from Jubilee Hills to Muffakham Jah College
Under the revised plan, the flyover will be developed as a continuous corridor from Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction to Muffakham Jah College.
The corridor will also have a connecting ramp to Banjara Hills Road No. 1.
The work will be executed in two packages, both of which will be entrusted to the existing contractor, Megha Engineering & Infrastructures (MEIL).
The change replaces an earlier arrangement that covered separate flyovers and underpasses at multiple junctions.
Package-1 scope changed to first section of steel flyover
The scope of Package-1 has been changed from the proposed flyovers and underpasses at Jubilee Hills Check Post, KBR Park Entrance and Mugdha junctions.
It will now cover the first part of the steel flyover from Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction to Mugdha Junction.
The work will remain within the sanctioned project cost of ₹580 crore.
However, the Internal Bench March has been revised from the previous ₹322.16 crore to ₹365.85 crore.
Package-2 extended to Muffakham Jah College
The scope and site of Package-2 have also been changed under the revised plan.
The earlier proposal covered Road No. 45, Film Nagar, Maharaja Agrasen and Cancer Hospital junctions.
The package will now comprise the second part of the steel flyover from Mugdha Junction to Muffakham Jah College.
It will also include the connecting ramp to Banjara Hills Road No. 1.
The sanctioned project cost for Package-2 will remain ₹510 crore.
Its revised IBM cost has been fixed at ₹349.31 crore, compared with the original ₹272.89 crore.
Together, the revised scopes create a continuous flyover corridor between the Jubilee Hills Check Post and Muffakham Jah College sections, while retaining the project within the sanctioned costs specified for the two packages.
Separate TV9 and NFCL works cancelled
The government has also cancelled the proposed two-lane unidirectional flyover at NFCL Junction.
It has cancelled the proposed two-lane unidirectional underpass and three-lane unidirectional flyover at TV9 Junction as well.
The letter of acceptance issued to KNR Constructions for these works has been revoked.
The deposits paid during the tender process are to be refunded.
Revised proposals to go before EPC Committee
The government has permitted GHMC to place the revised proposals before the EPC (Engineering-Procurement-Construction) Committee.
The existing project management consultants for both KBR Park packages have been allowed to continue.
The government has also ratified GHMC’s action in modifying the designs and proceeding with the revised scope.
The orders were published on October 07, 2026 at 12:25 pm IST.
